TNPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector Recruitment 2018
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced the recruitment of Motor Vehicle Inspector posts under Tamil Nadu Transport Subordinate Service. Interested and eligible candidates to apply for the positions may submit their registrations through the official website, tnpsc.gov.in.

The minimum age limit for candidates is 21 years and upper age limit is 32 years. There is no upper age limit for candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs categories including Destitute Widows of all castes.
Candidates with Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu and having work experience of not less than a year are eligible to apply.
Applicants must also have a valid driving license (for Motor Cycle, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles) and experience in driving Heavy Transport Vehicles for a Period of not less than six months after obtaining the license.
(i) Experience of having worked for a period of not less than one year both on vehicles fitted with Petrol Engines and Vehicles fitted with Diesel Engines on a full-time basis in an Automobile workshop which undertakes repairs of Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles.
(ii) Must hold a valid driving license authorizing him to drive Motor Cycle, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles. and
(iii) Must have experience in driving Heavy Transport Vehicles for a Period of not less than six months after obtaining the license referred to above
The examination fee of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) is payable by online through Net banking / Credit card / Debit card or it can be paid by offline at SBI / at Indian Bank within 2 days from the date of submission of online application, by choosing the option in the online application.
One-time registration fee must be paid separately as per the requirement.
The examination paper will comprise of two papers –
Paper 1: Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering Paper
Paper 2: General Studies
While the total marks for paper 1 and paper 2 are 300 marks and 200 marks, respectively, the questions in Paper 1 will be set in English only and paper 2 will be set in both English and Tamil.
