Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 20 Years as on 01.07.2018

Maximum Age: 28 Years as on 01.07.2018

(should have been born on or after 01.07.1990 and on or before 01.07.1998).

The upper age limit relaxation is given to certain categories are as follows:-

Age Relaxations: BC / MBC: 30 Years, SC / ST: 33 Years, Destitute Widow: 35 Years, Ex-servicemen: 45 Years, Police Quota: 45 Years.

Candidates should possess a degree in Science from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission in the pattern of 10+2+3.

Candidates should have studied Tamil as a subject in X. If not studied, candidates will have to pass the Tamil-Part II Test conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.

Departmental Quota:

20% reservation will be provided for Police Departmental candidates. The serving Police personnel meeting eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS Rules can apply.

The examination fee is Rs.500/-.

If the Police Departmental candidate applies for both open quota and departmental quota, he /she shall pay a sum of Rs.1000/- as examination fee and shall be paid either through cash challan or online payment.

Selection Procedure of the TNUSRB Finger Print SI Recruitment will consist of Written examination followed by Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Viva-Voice.

Candidates clearing all the stages will be shortlisted as per the requirement.

All the eligible candidates will be called for Written Examination. The distribution of marks are as follows:-

Question paper will contain 170 objective type questions. Each question carries ½ mark.

(b) Departmental Quota:-

The duration of the Written Examination is 3.00 hrs.

Note:

1. 20% Departmental Quota candidates are exempted from Physical Measurement Test.
2. Ex-servicemen / Ex-personnel of central para-military forces, serving persons who are going to retire within one year are exempted from Physical Measurement Test.

iii. The Board or the Government will not be responsible for any mishaps during the Physical Measurement Test.

1. The open candidates who qualify in Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test, and original certificate verification will be called for Viva-Voce.
2. All the departmental candidates who qualify in Written Examination and original certificate verification will be called for Viva-Voce

iii. The Viva-Voce will be conducted at TNUSRB, Chennai. Candidates who are called for Viva-Voce should produce all the Original Certificates at the time of Viva-Voce.
